We take environmental responsibility
Melbu Hotell is Eco-Lighthouse certified.
We were certified in September 2021, and we continue to work at becoming more environmentally friendly as a company.
With this work we hope to reduce our ecological footprint.
Benefits for you as our guest:
- We have taken a number of measures in the hotel rooms, such as replacing all disposable cups with a more environmentally friendly and degradable material.
- We have introduced waste sorting for general waste, paper, plastic, organic waste and bottles/cans.
- 12 rooms with allergy-friendly duvets and pillows.
- All soaps are allergy-friendly and third-party ecolabelled.
- All of the cleaning of the rooms is done with environmentally friendly cleaning products.
- We encourage you as our guests to use the tap and shower water sparingly, and to reuse your towels if staying more than one night. If you hang up your towel our cleaner will know that you would like to use it one more night. If you leave your towel on the floor, it will be changed.
- Energy-saving showers are installed in all rooms.
Breakfast: We want to produce as little food waste as possible. For this reason we calculate the size of the breakfast buffet according to the number of guests. Occasionally, when there are too few guests, it is not feasible to set up a full buffet. In those instances we will serve you a breakfast plate of your choice. Activities: We would appreciate it very much if during your stay you chose activities that are sustainable, such as hiking in the mountains. Our partner Adventure4Life is also in the process of getting Eco-Lighthouse certified. They focus on providing sustainable and environmentally friendly tours. Other: We are working continuously to keep down our energy and water consumption, and we consider the environment with every goods purchase. We hope that you appreciate our work with the environment.
